The Meteorological Department of India (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Palghar and Thane until June 12. The southwest monsoon arrived in Mumbai and its areas neighboring on June 9, the IMD announced that heavy rains hit the city and suburbs since early in the morning.

According to the IMD alert, heavy rainfall is expected to very heavy in these regions.

In the next 24 hours, Mumbai will see moderate rains to strong in the city and suburbs with very heavy falls in isolated places. In the next 48 hours, you will see very heavy at extremely heavy falls in isolated places.

Mumbai City and the suburbs are very likely to experience a light than moderate rainfall with the possibility of casual intense spells during the next 3 to 4 hours.
