Vaidehi Dongre from Michigan crowned Miss India USA

Twenty-five-year-old Vaidhi Dongre from Michigan was named Miss India USA 2021 while Arshi Lalani from Georgia was declared the first runner in the beauty contest held during the weekend.

Dongre, 25, graduated from the University of Michigan, majoring in international study. He works as a business development manager with a large company.

“I want to leave a positive eternal impact on my community and focus on female financial independence and literacy,” Vaidhi said.

He also won the “Miss Bakented” award for the perfect performance of Indian classic dance Kathak.

Lalani, 20, dazzling everyone with his appearance and confidence and was declared the first runner up. He suffered from a brain tumor.

Mira Kasari North Carolina was declared a runner up.

Diana Hayden, Miss World 1997, was the guest chief and judge’s head for the contest.

A total of 61 contestants from 30 countries participated in three different contests – Miss India USA, NY. Indian US and Miss Indian United States. Winners of the three categories get free tickets to travel to Mumbai to take part in contests around the world.

Started by New York Indian-Americans who are leading Dharmatma and Neelam advice under the banner of the contest around the world about 40 years ago, Miss India USA is Pageant India which lasts the longest outside India.
