Gorilla and birds are an upcoming American drama television miniseries. Written by Bryan Sipe, this series is based on memoir with the same name by Zack McDermott.
The series will be directed by Jean-Marc Vallée before his death in December 2021. The limited series ordered by HBO was announced on December 10, 2018.

This series, based on memoir by Zack McDermott, is an inspirational story of the unconditional love of a mother for her bipolar son. Zack fought to regain sanity after a devastating psychotic break, turned to the only person who did not give up on him – his mother.
Once a very successful general defender for the Legal Aid Society of New York, Zack traveled delusional and antisocial behavior, which led to his arrest and commitment to the Bellevue Hospital.
Now talking about the cast, it includes other than Vallée, who will serve as directors and executive producers, Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin, and Peter Kiernan will produce executives with their production companies, free associations, teams behind 22 Jump Street and Magic Mike Franchise .
Nathan Ross, Robin Schwartz, Marc Turtletaub, and Peter Neuri on the Beach is also an executive manufacturer. Showrunner Bryan Sipe will function as the author and executive producer with the author of Zack McDermott as a co-executive producer.
